For those of you looking for a good time this weekend, Marathon has a treat for you! For those from othere northshore communities, why not take a trip to Marathon for their Summerfest Celebrations!  The Summerfest Dance is one not to be missed on Saturday, July 3 featuring Wooley & The Mammoths and Broken Jimmy, tickets are only $10 in advance and $15 at the door.

Broken Jimmy will open the show and features three local guys; Lance Lebreton, Keith Johnson and Martin Tremblay.  Their sound is heavier and will definitely get you in the mood to enjoy the rest of the night! They have been playing the region for the last year or so and are also playing the Geraldton Music Jamboree on Friday, July 31 opening for Jully Black and The Stereos, which is quite an exciting opportunity!  You can check out more of Broken Jimmy on Facebook or www.myspace.com/brokenjimmy.

Legendary in their own right, Wooley & the Mammoths are hands down one of the most talented group of musicians along the North Shore and have been entertaining crowds for decades.  Their music includes some of the best rock and roll & classics, rock songs from the 70’s to modern day hits!  

Ray Berube, Jim Gosling, Johnny “ZZ” Robichaud, Pat “Cheddar” Tanasichuk and Bill Bolger make up Wooley & the Mammoths and know how to pack a dance floor! OntarioNewsNorth.com will continue to keep you on track with where to hear the Mammoths live but for a more personal look at these northern rockers, check them out on Facebook where, just this week, they’ve reached over 500 fans! The North Shore Singers

For a live performance of some softer sounds, attend the the Opening Ceremonies of Schreiber’s 125th Anniversary where the Northshore Singers will be performing Tuesday, July 12th. They are also hosting a fundraising luncheon July 16th (CLICK HERE for a list of locations were tickets are available in both Terrace Bay and Schreiber) . This incredible choir includes more than 50 vocalists from Schreiber and Terrace Bay, lead by conductor Gerry Price.  Their broad repertoire appeals to a variety of musical tastes and ages earning them a reputation for filling venues across Northwestern Ontario.
