ATV & Dirt Bike Collide, No Charges Laid

MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION

(MARATHON, ON.) –On July 27, 2010 at 03:20pm the Marathon OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision that occurred on a bush trail located behind 22 Poplar Crescent in the Town of Marathon.

The collision involved an ATV and a dirt bike that were travelling in opposite directions on the trail. The two collided on a corner were the visibility was poor due to the thick bush in the area. The driver of the dirt bike, a 27 year old male, sustained broken bones to his left leg and left arm. He was transported to Wilson Memorial General Hospital were he was then transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital to be treated for his injuries. The driver of the ATV, a 17 year old male, sustained minor injuries and was released at the scene.

Both drivers were wearing proper safety equipment and no charges were laid in this incident.
