Holy Angels Run to FIRST at X-Country Run

St. Hillary Running Team

RED ROCK, ON – Having trained for weeks with the help of Mrs. Figliomeni and Mrs. Bergeron, October 12th, the Holy Angels Running Team (Schreiber) participated in the St. Hilary’s 21st Cross Country Run. A total of 17 students, from Grade 3 to Grade 8, made the trip to Red Rock to enter the 2.8 km race.

In the Junior Boys division, with great determination, Brock Trichilo came in 1st out of 53 boys with a time of 12.01; Connor Gionet, after leading most of the race, was right behind him with 2nd at 12.14. With our 8 junior boys combined times, Holy Angels placed first in the Junior Boys Division out of 11 schools. Our junior girls as well as the senior boys and girls all achieved their goal of finishing the race, and were very proud of their accomplishments. Everyone set their time to beat for next year.

Congratulations to all those who trained diligently to participate; the hard work and dedication paid off! Next year, the Holy Angels Running Team plans to enter the Mid-Canada Elementary Schools Run which will be held in Thunder Bay!
