SCHREIBER, ON – Sunday, December 12th, 2010 residents of Schreiber and neighbouring communities gathered at the Schreiber Recreation Centre for “Reason for the Season’ a moving and heartfelt performance by the North Shore Singers, conducted by Maestro Gerry Price.

Admission to the show was a donation, as per their tradition, the Singers did not have a fixed admission as they take pride in offering the opportunity to enjoy their first class talents to everyone, regardless of entertainment budgets.  Having had the priviledge to enjoy the show from the front row with my daughter I am confident saying that you would be hard-pressed to see this calibur of live performance in a city for under $50/ticket, and even then you certainly would not be any where near the front 1/2 of the venue.

From the soloists’ performances to those with the full choir to the sing-a-longs or Gerry Price’s reading of ‘A Christmas Orange’ the show was absolutely spectacular from beginning to end.  I recorded some of the last third of the performance including a few solo performances, sing-alongs and several full-choir treats, though my equipment does not do justice to the talent it captured, it will give you an idea of the variety offered by the North Shore Singers during their “Reason for the Season” performance. Thank you to each of the singers for sharing their talents and hearts, on behalf of all those who had the pleasure of hearing them in Terrace Bay December 11th and Schreiber December 12th.
