Manitouwadge Mourns

LaRoche, Arthur Gilbert Paul

Oct 2, 1929 – May 19, 2011

Passed away at the Manitouwadge Hospital where he has been living under the care of his daughter, Louise and the wonderful staff there that grew to care and love him for his helpful ways and teasing nature during his 6 year stay.

Remembering all his regular trips to Hawk (some by bike or car) for JDD’s wonderful tarts, and those he helped in the past years by cleaning snow, or cutting lawns and garden work for other seniors or even many years ago, when growing up, he was always there to help fix a flat tire or adjust bikes for kids in our neighbourhood. He was always willing to help wherever and however he could.

Survived by 3 sons and 3 daughters and many grandkids and great-grandkids and two sisters in Thunder Bay. In accordance to his wishes, cremation has taken place and arrangements for him to be buried with his mother, Sophie in Thunder Bay at a future date have been arranged.

Donations to the Manitouwadge General Hospital or the Make A Wish Foundation would be appreciated in his name. Seeing as his disease took his memories, it would be nice to help others create special memories.
