2nd Annual TRICK OR EAT Food Drive – Manitouwadge

 MANITOUWADGE, ON – She’s at it again… Last year, Natalie Labbee organized Manitouwadge’s 1st “Trick or Eat” food drive after being inspired while in Marathon by Karen Richard the volunteer resposible for the 2010 Trick or Eat event there.  Though she had less time than would’ve have been ideal to organize, Labbee pulled the event together very successfully with approximately 30 participants (adults and children).  Manitouwadge residents opened their cupboards and wallets as 32 kids and 14 parents collected non-perishables and donations for the Manitouwadge’s Food Bank totalling approximately $2000 (estimated retail value) {Click here to read about the 2010 event}

This year Labbee hopes to top the 2010 total and is expecting that even more little ‘gobblins’ and ‘ghouls’ will participate now that folks know what to expect of  “Trick or Eat” and are more familiar with what it is all about.  The

2nd Annual Trick or Eat Food Drive

 will be held:

Saturday, October 22

at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Meet at 5:30 pm to choose your route.

Participants are encouraged to come in costume, this is a great chance to let your kids try out the Hallowe’en attire before the ‘big night’. For some whose personal beliefs do not mesh with celebrating Halloween, it also offers an opportunity for themselves and their children to enjoy dressing up with a twist on the goal for the evening (instead of collecting candies for themselves, participants collect non-perishables for their neighbours in need.

As they did last year, Barrick Gold is once again to providing the Trick or Eat bags.  It is very important that the Food Bank have it’s shelves stocked, with kidsHelp fill the Food Bank for the upcoming holiday season!

Thank you for supporting this important community event! Hope to see you there! (OntarioNewsNorth.com is a proud sponsor of Trick or Eat in Manitouwadge)
