WINTER SEASON in FULL SWING


Hornepayne, Manitouwadge and Lake Superior high school teams shine early in Senior Girls Volleyball, while Lake Superior, Manitouwadge and Dubreuilville High School teams lead the way in Senior Boys Basketball action.

Once again Northshore Secondary Schools Athletic Association (NSSSAA) teams are battling it out to see who will attend this seasons finale at the home of Senior Girls Volleyball East. The Hornepayne Hawks can’t wait to get into their new gym. They are in a race with the ‘Ouragans’ (translation: Hurricanes) from l’Orée des Bois High School of Dubreuilville to see who will be the host for the Winter Championship.

In Junior Girls Volleyball, the École St. Joseph Chevaliers look to win their first ever title. They are off to a 2-0 start with wins over Marathon and Manitouwadge Wolverines. In the West, the Stingers are tops win wins over the Huskies, Knights and Lakers. The East is led by the Hawks from Hornepayne. In Junior Boys Basketball the Knights from Geraldton are battling it out with the Nip-Rock Lakers in the West. The Marathon High School Falcons are leading the Central Division, while the Hornepayne High School Hawks lead the way in the East.
