ONTC union happy to hear from Horwath

The General Chairperson’s Association (GCA) which represents all unionized employees at Ontario Northland is pleased by NDP Leader Andrea Horwath’s statement today outlining her Party’s demands for supporting the McGuinty Government’s Budget that includes keeping the ONTC in public hands.

“We are pleased to see the NDP Leader and her caucus stand up for Northerners by demanding that the ONTC remain in public hands as a precursor for her party’s support of the Budget” said General Chairperson’s Association Spokesperson Brian Kelly.

“We are fully supportive of Ms. Horwath’s party position on this important issue. It is refreshing to see a Leader who understands the importance of the ONTC to all communities of Northern Ontario”, continued Kelly.

“The Liberal Government must come to its senses and accept Ms. Horwath’s party’s proposals and remove the cloud of uncertainty surrounding the future of the ONTC and the important services it provides to Northern communities”, concluded Kelly.
