MANITOUWADGE, ON – Royal Canadian Legion Branch 242 led Manitouwadge residents in a parade to the Cenotaph this Sunday which, after Legion President Ron Sheppard laid the first wreath, continued on to the Recreation Centre Auditorium. At the auditorium after those gathered had recognized 2 minutes of silence, sung the national anthem, heard an address from Prime Minister Stephen Harper read by Ron Sheppard, and a prayer from Reverend Doreen Sproule, legionnaire Lou Budgell narrated the laying of wreaths from businesses, organizations and families. The ceremony was very moving, Mr. Budgell expressed the Legion’s appreciation of the support shown by the community as 49 wreaths had been donated. Many of those in attendance re-grouped at KG’s Bar after the ceremony for refreshments and desserts provided by Legion Branch 242.
