TERRACE BAY, ON – Hip Hip Hooray for the 100th Day!!  Friday, February 8th the students of St. Martin School celebrated the 100th day of school with a variety of classroom activities.  Since the first day of school the primary classrooms have been keeping track of the number of days they have been in school, in anticipation for the 100th day celebration.  This is a perfect opportunity to celebrate the various mathematical concepts that have been taught using the number 100.

A variety of books were read focusing on this special day, hats were created, and classroom activities all focused on this theme.  Some of these included: 100 snacks or snacks that resembled the numbers 1,0,0,  students recreated the number 100 visually with their bodies, jumping up and down 100 times, dancing for 100 seconds, identifying the 100 things they love about school, what the world would like in 100 years, etc.

As always the activities all demonstrated enthusiasm and a love of learning, within an integrated curriculum of Numeracy, Literacy, and the Arts.

Students were reminded of how far they’ve come in just 100 days thanks to their hard work and the diligence of caring, committed teachers. Photos SMS
