RED ROCK, ON – Tuesday October, 15th 2013 nine students from St. Martin School travelled to St. Hilary School in Red Rock to compete in the annual Cross Country Running competition.  These students trained every day for over a month with Ms. Tara Ruberto and Mrs. Desjardins and their intense preparation and dedication to the sport awarded them super results.

This year there were more participants than in the past years and we are so proud of all of our runners!

  •  Brooke Olive, Emma Desjardins and Madison Winters competed in the Junior Girls division, along with 71 other young ladies.  Brooke finished 10th of 71, Emma was 47th and Madison  53rd.
  • Liam Scott and Ethan Elliot competed in the Junior Boy division with 67 other runners.  Liam finished in 3rd place and Ethan in 37th.
  • Daniella Szczepaniak and Breanne Woods were our competitors in the Senior Girls division and Daniella place 11th and Breanne 14th.
  • Vinni  Speziale and Austin Sutherland competed in the Senior Boys division where Vinni  finished in 15th and Austin in 29th.

Each school had the opportunity to recognize one runner who was an integral part of their team; this year the recipient from St. Martin School was Vinni Speziale because his coaches recognized his enthusiasm, dedication to practice and his daily encouragement for all his teammates.  Vinni was an asset to our team and it was an honour to recognize him at St. Hilary School for all of his energy, hard work, and dedication.

Congratulations to all of the runners from St. Martin School!  We are so proud of ALL of you!
