Charges Laid In Relation To Sexual Assaults

oppcolourTHUNDER BAY, ON – In June of 2013 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an investigation regarding allegations of historical sexual assaults which had occurred between 1997 and 2007 within the City of Thunder Bay and Warnica Lake (Jacques Township).  Assisted by Thunder Bay Police Service, the investigation resulted in the identification of three male victims and the subsequent arrest of a 51 year old male from Thunder Bay on Thursday December 19, 2013.

Gary Bruce LAMONT has been charged with eight offences contrary to the Criminal Code:

  • One count of Assault
  • Three counts of Utter Threats to Cause Bodily Harm
  • Three counts of Sexual Assault
  • One count of Forcible Confinement

There are a number of male victims relating to these offences and they were between the ages of 17 and 24 years at the time.

The accused has been remanded into custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay December 23, 2013.
