WAWA, ON – November 29, 2013 at 8:30 pm, the Superior East Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wawa Detachment responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 519 in the Dambrossio Township.
Upon arrival the driver was removed from the motor vehicle by the OPP. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended the scene shortly thereafter. The driver, 55 year old Rejean POULIN of Wawa, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police investigation revealed that the vehicle, a 2006 Toyota Tacoma, was on a straight away when it veered off of the roadway on the right hand side and drove into the ditch striking a rock face. Members with the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) are currently investigating the cause of the collision.
