TERRACE BAY, ONSt. Martin School’s Grade 7/8  students, as part of their Lenten journey, created models of Jesus’ crown of thorns using modeling clay and toothpicks.  As each student fulfilled their Lenten promise they removed a thorn (toothpick) from their crown.  With the removal of each thorn(toothpick) they equated it to the lessening of Jesus’s suffering.  In addition, the class presented a dramatic representation of The Stations of the Cross from Mary’s perspective.

The students enjoyed the hands-on activity which provided them a new way to learn about, and participate in, lent.
