Tight three way battle in West Central Division of NSSSAA.

The Lake Superior High School Stingers will host the Manitouwadge High School Wolverines in Senior Girls Basketball action in Terrace bay tomorrow ( Senior X2). Depending on how the games unfold there could be a three way tie. The Wolverines need to secure one win to grab first place. That would leave the Stingers 3rd and make room for the Falcons to be the 2nd seed going into the playoffs. GCHS will not be attending the Cross-Over Ranking tournament as they folded their senior team a few weeks ago.

In other seeding, the Nipigon-Red Rock District High School Junior and Senior Boys will be ranked 1st while Geraldton Composite High School Boys Volleyball teams will be the 2nd seed. In the West Central Division of the Western Conference, the Wolverines are 1st in Jr and Sr boys volleyball, while the Falcons have the 2nd seed in senior and the Stingers laying claim to the 2nd Jr seed. The Falcons are 1st in Jr Girls Basketball while the Stingers are seeded 2nd.

In the East Division of NSSSAA the Hornepayne  Hawks and the Michipicoten High School Vikings are leading the way in several categories. In Senior Girls Basketball, the Vikings lead the way with a 5-0 record with the Ecole Secondaire St. Joseph (Wawa) Chevaliers, Hawks and Coyotes all battling for the 2nd playoff birth. In Junior Girls basketball, the Hawks from Hornepayne lead the way.

In Boys Volleyball, the Junior Vikings (Wawa) lead the way with the 2nd seed still up for grabs, and in senior play the Hawks (Hornepayne) and Vikings are both at the top. There are still a few games yet to be played. The host of NSSSAA will be determined at the Cross-Over tournament to be held in Marathon on Tuesday, october 28th, 2014.
