Winter storm warning: Wawa – White River – Pukaskwa – Dubreuilville

Winter storm warning in effect for:

  • Wawa – Pukaskwa Park
  • White River – Dubreuilville

Significant amounts of snow are expected.

A major winter storm is occuring and is expected to produce total snowfall amounts of 30 to 50 cm of snow by mid-day Wednesday. As of 11 AM EST today Chapleau has reported 23 cm of snow, Lake Superior Park about 20 cm and Wawa about 15 cm. Poor visibilities in snow and blowing snow are expected today and will continue into Wednesday morning. There is some potential for freezing rain in the Kirkland Lake and Gogama regions this afternoon.

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
