WAWA, ON – December 2, 2014 members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Wawa Detachment were advised of an incident that had taken place in the Town of Wawa, Ontario. The matter was investigated by police and as a result a local Wawa person has been arrested and charged with the following charges,
- Sexual Assault contrary to section 271 Criminal Code of Canada.
- 2 Counts of Assault Contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
- 3 Counts of Forcible Confinement contrary to section 279(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
- Criminal Harassment contrary to section 264(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was transported to Sault Ste. Marie for Bail Hearing.
