TERRACE BAY, ON – It is with considerable regret that the Superior North Catholic District School Board’s Board of Trustees have accepted Valerie Pichette’s notice of retirement as Director of Education and Secretary-Treasurer for the Superior North Catholic DSB. She has been the Director of Education with the board for the past six years and will be retiring on August 15, 2015.

Over her 44 years in education, 37 will have been with the Superior North Catholic DSB. Val says she will always treasure her years of service in Catholic education with the SNCDSB and she is proud of the many accomplishments of our students, staff members and trustees. Val has supported learning, achievement and faith development at the classroom, school and board level. In her role as Director of Education, she has lead with compassion, justice and empathy and has treated all employees in an equitable manner. Val’s commitment to Catholic education is evident at all levels, but especially in her work with the trustees. She has been a dedicated, motivated and committed leader for our system and has been instrumental in our substantial progress these past years.

While the SNCDSB Board of Trustees will truly miss Val’s assistance, they congratulate Val on her retirement and hope that she enjoys other interests, such as spending more time with her two sons and her granddaughter. The SNCDSB wishes her all the best in her retirement.
