École Secondaire St. Joseph Hosts NSSSAA Finals Wednesday

The Senior Boys Basketball team went undefeated and has earned the Chevaliers the right to host the Winter Finals this Wednesday in chilly Wawa.

Teams from around the region will congregate in Wawa this coming Wednesday, February 18th, to compete for the boys basketball and girls volleyball titles.

École Secondaire St. Joseph will host the boys basketball, while Michipicoten High School will be the venue for girls volleyball. 

The winner of the Senior Boys Basketball crown will host the NorWOSSA winner who will be determined this Thursday in Kenora. The TA Saints will challenge the Atikokan Voyageurs to see who will face the undefeated (11-0) Red Lake Rams in the finals there. The Rams are the defending NWOSSAA Champions.

Whoever wins the NSSSAA Senior Girls Volleyball crown will head west to face the NorWOSSA champion team St. Thomas Aquinas which is undefeated this season. They have not lost a set and have added 5 Invitational titles as well.  They will face the winner of Atikokan and Whitefish Bay.

In Junior Boys Basketball action, the top ranked Michipicoten Vikings will face a feisty Manitouwadge Wolverines squad in one semi-final, while the Hornepayne Hawks will battle with the high scoring Marathon Falcons from Marathon.

In Junior Girls Volleyball, the defending champions from Manitouwadge will do battle with the Hawks while the Coyotes from Trillium will try and feast on the Falcons to earn a trip to the championship game.
