MTO Worker Struck By Motor Vehicle On Highway 17

oppcolourMARATHON, ON – Wednesday February 18, 2015 around 2:25pm Marathon/Manitouwadge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call regarding a person being hit by a motor vehicle on Highway 17, 24km west of White River.

A 47 year old female MTO plow truck driver was struck while parked in a snow plow turn around. A pickup truck driving eastbound struck the driver who was out of her vehicle doing a mechanical check. The pickup truck left the scene and continued eastbound towards White River/Wawa area.

EMS attended and transferred the female to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries.

The vehicle is described as a 1990-2000 style pickup truck, gold in color with possible damage to the passenger side. It was last seen traveling east bound on Highway 17.
