MANITOUWADGE, ON – March 26th, Manitouwadge Public School students and staff celebrated Epilepsy Awareness Day.  Each year staff and students show their support for this important cause by wearing purple and making donations to organizations which support treatment, raising awareness and research.

This cause is special at MPS as it is a chance to stand united with their school mate, Miah, who is diagnosed with epilepsy.  This day was made possible by Miah and her family who work diligently to raise awareness of this silent disease.  This year the family organized a bake sale at MPS and raised an impressive $201.75, and provided education regarding what epilepsy is and even provided prizes for draws held during the day.

Another example of what we can accomplish when students and staff rally behind a cause.
