Goose Droppings : April 2015

Spring is coming…tra la la.  Bah, Humbug!  Let’s try…Meat pies are coming in spring, tra la la? At least that we can get a handle on.

The WGSC Drop-In has meat pies in the works, come spring weather or not.  Orders are being taken by phone at 705 856 7394 every afternoon til the end of April.  Or e-mail WawaCreekBed@yahoo.ca with your name, telephone number, and the size and quantity.  You can also drop-in and write down your needs.

While you are doing the order you will be asked to fill out our survey.  We have finished the forms and we really want the ideas of seniors, members of the Wawa Goose Seniors’ Club or not.  What would you like to see as activities at the Drop-In?  Those contacting the club personally, help reduce the number of letters we need to prepare and mail out.  It is a check list with a short ranking list.  You can also write in what you don’t see on the list.  If you are not a member at present and have some ideas, please come in and get a form.

Last week  Norma Kauk, gerontology expert for the Family Health Team started a six week programme of information and exercises to help us avoid those dreaded falls.  They start at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Saturday.   Come on in for the fun and movement.

At the end of winter, March 20, we had a Spring tea and bake sale. We did have tremendous support from the bakers and the people who enjoy dessert tea.  We thank all those who were a part of it, despite the fact that spring was so where is sight.  Since this spring thing is so dicey maybe we should make it a “spring is coming” tea?

And we hope you are coming out to the Drop In.  Thursday, April 16 is a day for cribbage and we can probably find you a partner.
