MANITOUWADGE, ON – The Manitouwadge Fitness Club recently held a fundraiser, at the recreation centre auditorium. The ‘main event’, an arm wrestling tournament, and live entertainment by the Dead Horse Creek Band certainly drew in a crowd however there were many other exciting activities enjoyed by attendees, as competitors or spectators, including tests of personal strength/fitness. Among the challenges spurring many friendly competitions were a battery post hold, timed nail driving competition and 2 minute skipping challenge.
Thanks to the work of many volunteers, and the support of an impressive number of participants of all ages, the Manitouwadge Fitness Club raised approximately $4000 to help with the costs of upgrades or renovations . We all enjoyed the games during the day, and the great talents by the band called Dead Horse Creek, which volunteered their time.
The Manitouwadge Fitness Club is also appreciative of a $2,500 grant from the Nuclear Waste Management Organization`s (NWMO) Corporate Responsibility Fund.
