A Pembroke man has been fined a total of $2,000 for unlawfully hunting white-tailed deer.

Eli Gallibois-Drudge pleaded guilty and was fined a total of $2,000 for two counts of hunting deer without a licence, contrary to the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act.

Court heard that on November 6, 2013, Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry conservation officers received a complaint about two untagged deer at a Thunder Bay home. An officer visited the home to investigate and determined that Gallibois-Drudge had shot and killed two antlerless white-tailed deer the day before in the Pass Lake area, east of Thunder Bay without a licence. The deer were seized and forfeited to the Crown.

Justice of the Peace Ray Zuliani heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice, Thunder Bay, on August 5, 2015.
