Marathon OPP: Stolen Vehicle Recovered

oppcolourMARATHON, ON –On September 2, 2015 at 12:25 p.m. Marathon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a theft that occurred in the Town of Marathon.  The suspect vehicle was located at Highway 17, Township of Syine and the driver of the vehicle fled from police.  Investigation confirmed that the vehicle was stolen.  After a pursuit with police, the vehicle continued west bound and was located at Lamont Lake Road, east of the Town of Schreiber.  The male driver was taken into police custody without further incident.

Wayne David MOORE, a 25 year old from Hamilton, Ontario, has been charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Theft Under $5000
  • Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The male remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on September 3, 2015 to answer to these charges.
