Missanabie Driver Charged With Stunt Driving

oppcolourWAWA, ON – Saturday October 17, 2015, members of the Superior East Wawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting radar patrols on Highway 101 in the Township of Maness when they observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.

At approximately 6:30 pm, the motor vehicle in question was stopped for travelling at a rate of 145 Km/h in a posted 80 Km/h zone.

As a result Jules Gerald ANGLEHART (50) of Missanabie Ontario was charged with the following offence,

  • Drive a motor vehicle while performing stunt to wit driving in excess of 50 Km/h over the posted speed limit contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. 

A 7-day driver’s licence suspension was issued and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

The defendant was issued a Part III Summons and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Wawa on November 19, 2015.
