OPP Respond to Cattle Truck Rollover on Hwy 11/17

oppcolourTHUNDER BAY, ON – Thursday, October 15, 2015 at approximately 10:44 am officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) as well as Kaministiquia Fire Department responded to a collision involving a tractor trailer (cattle hauler) on Highway 11/17 west of Sunshine, Ont.

The driver of the tractor trailer was east bound on Highway 11/17 when the driver lost control causing the tractor and trailer to roll over onto the passenger side of the vehicle. 

The tractor portion rolled over blocking the east bound lane of Highway 11/17 and the trailer rolled over into the east bound ditch.

There were no injuries reported from the driver. The cattle hauler was hauling approximately 95 cattle and it is unknown at this time the status of all of the cattle.    

Highway 11/17 is open to one lane of traffic at this time, it is unknown when Highway 11/17 will fully reopen.

The investigation is continuing
