NCTR Community Engagement Session

NCTRThe NCTR will be in Ohsweken, ON on Nov. 10th

The National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR) will be conducting a Community Engagement Session in Ohsweken, Ontario and they want to hear from you.

The Centre houses all statements, documents and other materials that were collected by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC). On November 10th, 2015 they will be in Ohsweken, Ontario at the Six Nations Community Hall (1738 4th line). The session is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and lunch will be provided. Health Supports will also be available during the event.

Ry Moran, Director of the NCTR says, “Having access to the records has real meaning for Survivors because many were raised for years in a residential school away from their families. Bringing these documents together allows them to reconnect with their past and their families’ past.”

The Community Engagement gives participants an opportunity to share their thoughts for the Centre. All Survivors, Inter-Generational Survivors and the general public are encouraged to attend the N-C-T-R Community Engagement Session.

The National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR) was created to preserve the memory of Canada’s Residential School system and legacy. Officially opening in the fall of 2015, the NCTR will be the permanent home for all statements, documents, and other materials gathered by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC).
