FedNor $1.6M Regional Funding Announcement Made In Wawa

Investment Supports Business Development and Growth in the Superior East Region

WAWA, ON – Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario (FedNor) – APRIL 28, 2016, Terry Sheehan, Member of Parliament for Sault Ste. Marie, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for FedNor, announced an investment of $1,600,000 in support of small business development and growth in the region that includes Wawa, Dubreuilville, White River and Chapleau.

The FedNor contribution will enable the Superior East Community Development Corporation to offer business counselling and access to capital services, as well as support community strategic planning initiatives for a fiveyear period.

  • Based in Wawa, the Superior East Community Development Corporation is one of 24 Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) funded by FedNor to serve Northern Ontario businesses and communities. CFDCs are community-based, not-for-profit organizations run by volunteer boards and staffed by experienced business and economic development professionals.
