RED ROCK, ON – Red Rock’s 2016 Canada Day celebrations was a huge success. The festivities were held at the beautiful Red Rock Marina waterfront. The day started with a delicious brunch hosted by the Red Rock Royal Canadian Legion. The afternoon events began at 3:00 with the 2nd Annual Canada Day Fun Run. The singing of O’Canada lead by Cassidy Houston at 4:00pm was preceded by the Canada Day parade to the flag pole. Dinner was a fantastic barbeque served by the Red Rock Volunteer Fire Brigade at the Marina Building. Donations for the barbeque by silver collection were donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Rosalee Belanger baked and decorated a huge Canada Day cake which was enjoyed by all.

The games began for children and adults of all ages. Vendors were invited to set up their goods to showcase and the cotton candy was a huge hit! The day ended with a fantastic fireworks display at 11 pm. Thank you to the Red Rock Volunteer Fire Brigade for putting on a beautiful show.

We acknowledge the financial support of the Government of Canada through the Department of Canadian Heritage.

A big thank-you goes out to everyone who volunteered and donated to the 2016 Canada Day festivities: Ontario Power Generation, Royal Canadian Legion, Ladies of St. Hilary, Masonic Lodge 672, Red Rock Volunteer Fire Brigade, Elliot Funeral Home, Peter Young, Triple T Enterprises, Filipovic et al, Red Rock Golden Club, Nipigon Family Health Team, Red Rock Mayor and Council.
