OPP Charge Male Driver with Theft of Gas

WAWA, ON – On Sunday September 18, 2016 at approximately 10:25 am members of the Superior East Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a theft of gas from a Wawa gas station. Officers were advised that a male driver had just filled his motor vehicle with gas then drove away without making any attempts to pay.

A description of the driver and motor vehicle was given to all Superior East members. The motor vehicle and its driver were later located and stopped on Highway 17 just south of White River Ontario.

As a result Karl STE-MARIE (28) of Rouyn-Noranda Quebec was charged with the following offence:

  • Adult Theft Under $5000 contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released from custody and is to appear at the Ontario court of Justice in Wawa Ontario on November 7, 2016.
