Terrace Bay Community Centre Update

TERRACE BAY, ON – Due to problems with the Refrigeration Plant at the Terrace Bay Community Centre, it will be necessary to depressurize the Ammonia System. No leak has occurred and no ammonia has been released.

A State of Emergency has been Declared for precautionary reasons and to allow for adequate resources to be dispatched to safely assist us with this problem.

The Municipality has been in constant contact with the MOE and other agencies in order to safely rectify the situation.

At this time, no Evacuation is deemed necessary though some businesses on Simcoe Plaza will be asked to vacate later today as a precautionary measure, while the situation is dealt with.

However, should the situation change, proper notification will be communicated through appropriate media channels. Please stay tuned to local radio for the most up to date information.
