Government Invests $100,000 to Revitalize Thunder Bay’s Columbus Centre

THUNDER BAY, ON  –  FedNor – The Government of Canada is investing $100,000 to complete vital infrastructure upgrades to the aquatics facility at the Fort William Columbus Centre in Thunder Bay. Operated by the local Knights of Columbus who invest more than 30,000 volunteer hours annually, the centre has been an important community hub since 1977.

Don Rusnak, Member of Parliament for Thunder Bay—Rainy River, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for FedNor, today announced this Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150) investment. Specifically, the funding will help extend the life of the aquatics facility and improve accessibility to the swimming pool area through capital upgrades, as well as support the replacement of the facility’s roof.
