[edited by ONN]

MANITOUWADGE, ON –  June 13, 2017, Superior North Catholic District School Board students, as well as student-athletes from a number of other boards, gathered in Manitouwadge for some fun, laughs and competition!

This event, hosted by Our Lady of Lourdes catholic school, included participants from Biigtgong Nishnaabeg (Pic River First Nation), Manitouwadge Public School, Ecole Publique Franco-Manitou Manitouwadge, St. Martin School (Terrace Bay) and Holy Angels School (Schreiber) celebrate sportsmanship and athletics through a Track and Field meet.

Athletes from across the North shore of Lake Superior competed in this multi-board track and field event. The athletes provided inspiring examples of commitment, hard work and sportsmanship. It was heart warming to see all the athletes cheering each other on and celebrating each other’s victories, regardless of what school they come from.

Thumbs up to Karly Baker, Our Lady of Lourdes Staff, and Parent Council who organized this fantastic event for the young athletes! Thank you also to those who supported the Our Lady of Lourdes Parent Council BBQ fundraiser!

A fun day of athletics was had by all and shared by family and friends.
