Sigourney Weaver has had quite a career spanning back to 1979. The three time Academy Award nominee was a relative unknown in Hollywood when she starred in the 1979 Sci-Fi hit “Alien”. The Alien franchise would become an instant classic with sequels leading up to Alien Resurrection in 1997- Sigourney Weaver starred in each. There was also a spin-off titled “Alien vs Predator” in 2004 and yet another spin-off titled “Prometheus” in 2012. Fast forward to 2017 and Alien is back! Michael Fassbender takes over the starring role in the 2017 version that focuses on the crew of a colony ship, bound for a remote planet. There are a total of seven new releases this week with a brief synopsis of each below;

Alien Covenant: starring Michael Fassbender and Billy Crudup- The crew of a colony ship sets out on a mission to build a new life on a remote planet.  The mission soon takes a dramatic turn when the ship falls under attack by a horrifying creature. Everything, Everything: starring Nick Robinson and Amandla Stenberg- A teenager, afflicted with a rare skin disease that prevents her from going outside, falls for the new boy next door who teaches her a whole new appreciation for life. Security: starring Antonio Banderas and Ben Kingsley- A security fights to protect a woman who is being targeted by a ruthless gang for participating as a witness in a criminal trial. (Action) (DVD and Blu-Ray)  Also available to rent @ 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge 

Wall: starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson and John Cena- Two American Soldiers are trapped by a lethal sniper, with only an unsteady wall lying between them. (Action/War) (DVD and Blu-Ray) Also available to rent @ 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge 

Descendants 2: starring Dove Cameron and Cameron Boyce- Mal returns to the Isle of the Lost to find her archenemy Uma, teaming up with the son of Captain Hook, and Gil, the son of Gaston. (Kids) (DVD)

Hickok: starring Luke Hemsworth and Kris Kristofferson- Tasked with taming a wild west town, Wild Bill Hickok’s reputation is put to the test after the rival of a group of hardened gunslingers. (Western) (DVD)

Blind: starring Alec Baldwin and Demi Moore- A novelist, blinded in a car crash that killed his wife, rediscovers his passion for both life when he embarks on an affair with the neglected wife of an indicted businessman. (Drama/Romance) (DVD) Also available to rent @ 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge

Agents of Mayhem: The world has fallen under the rule of the League of Evil Gentlemen Intent on Obliterating Nations. It is up to you to stop this group of supervillanous criminal masyerminds at any cost before they take over the world! Available to rent or buy for PS4 or Xbox One.

Kung Fu Yoga: starring Jackie Chan- Two professors team up in an attempt to locate a lost treasure, and embark on an adventure that takes them from a Tibetan ice cave to a mountain temple in India (Action/Comedy) (DVD) .

The Sublet: starring Tianna Nori– A new mother begins questioning her sanity as she discovers a violent past in her new apartment and suspects that the building may be haunted. (Horror) (DVD)
