Manitouwadge Mourns John Hunter

John King Hunnter (1930-2017) – Always an independent soul and a man who went by the beat of his own drum, he decided on a snowy day in October, when the wind was blowing it’s hardest, that it was time for his spirit to catch a ride on the north wind to his cherished Foch. He was sent off by his family, who will be thinking of him always, especially his partner of 51 years Liette Hunter, who will miss him dearly, but knows she will see him in all the sunsets and all the nature around us.

John will always be remembered by his brother Bruce and in the thoughts and memories of his sons Karlson (Connie) and Anders (Nancy) and of his daughter Karina. His memory lives on in his grandchildren Lloyd, Hudson, Mercedes, Briar, Taylor and Emeraude. Many extended family and friends will also miss his presence.

A private celebration of John’s life was held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Manitouwadge. If desired, memorial donations made to the Manitouwadge General Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Arrangements entrusted to the P.M. Gilmartin Funeral Home, Wawa, 1-800-439-4937
