Greenstone Youth Charged for Impaired Snowmobiling

GREENSTONE, ON – On December 27, 2017, at approximately 11:30 pm, a member of the Greenstone Ontario Provicial Police (OPP) observed a young person operating a snowmobile without a helmet in the community of Geraldton, Ontario.

The officer conducted a stop with the driver and, as a result of the subsequent investigation, the young person was found to be operating the snowmobile under the influence of alcohol.

The driver was charged with:

  • Driving while ability impaired by alcohol contrary to section 253 (1)(a) of the Criminal Code
  • Driving with More than 80mgs. of Alcohol in blood contrary to section 253 (1)(b) of the Criminal Code

He will appear in Geraldton Court on February 8, 2018 to answer to the charges.

The Greenstone OPP would like to take this opportunity to remind the public to drive responsibly both on and off the roadways.
