BATCHEWANA FIRST NATION, ON – Batchewana First Nation (BFN) Chief and Council have decided to temporarily close access to Whitefish Island due to several bear sightings in the area.

The First Nation’s Operations and Maintenance department have erected several signs indicating the closure and ask that the public respect and obey these signs for their own safety. Batchewana’s Natural Resource crew will be monitoring the site and will notify the public when the area is no longer of concern.
