Tornado Scare & Viewer Video

Northwestern Ontario Tornado Watch Lifted

A screencapture from the Tuesday, July 27th video submitted by Laura Lea Comeau.

NORTHWESTERN, ON – Northshore residents had a weather scare tonight as Environment Canada announceda Tornado Watch from Manitouwadge to the Manitoba border.

There were severe weather warnings and fears of giant hail that may be on it’s way but OntarioNewsNorth.com reports to date include no accounts of any tornado touch downs though tomorrow may bring more reports. The Tornado Watch stayed in effect from approximately 17:30 (5:30pm) until approximately 19:00 (7pm) at which time it was thankfully discontinued for the OntarioNewsNorth.com readership area.

Thanks to Laura Lea Comeau, the Marathon artist couldn’t resist getting to the town’s bay off Lake Superior to capture this video of some very impressive storm clouds; her name will be enterred into the monthly draw for $100.  For details of how you could win $100 just for sending the news you’ve captured (photos, videos, and/or details) to Editor@OntarioNewsNorth.com CLICK HERE.

Here are photos that Laura captured from the Marathon Harbour and Penn Lake Heights around the same time; she noted a ‘weird’ mist in the distance, preventing a view towards Neys or Pic Island outline.
