Superior East OPP – Assault and Break and Enter in Wawa; False ID used in Chapleau

ASSAULT CAUSE BODILY HARM

WAWA, ON  – April 20th, 2012 the Ontario Provincial Police Superior East Wawa Detachment responded to an assault complaint during the early hours.  Investigation led to the arrest of 24 year old Katie MATTAINI of Wawa.  Due to the severity of the injuries suffered by the victim the accused was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm.  She is to appear in Wawa Criminal Court on June 11th, 2012.

BREAK AND ENTER 

WAWA, ON – April 21st, 2012 the Ontario Provincial Police Superior East Wawa Detachment were advised of a break and enter that had occurred sometime the night before.  A camp located on Fort Friendship Road had been entered by unknown persons.  At this time not items were taken from the property.  OPP continue to investigate this matter.  Anyone with any information is requested to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers.

MALE CHARGED FOR USING FALSE ID

CHAPLEAU, ON – Ontario Provincial Police Superior East Chapleau Detachment have arrested and charged 34 year old Derek BOUDREAU.  On April 21st, 2012 OPP dealt with the accused and were provided false identification by the accused.  Upon positively identifying the accused police learned that he was wanted by the Ottawa Police Service and that he was breaching his probation by being in Chapleau.

As a result the accused located and arrested, he was held for bail court in Timmins, ON for the following charges;

  1. Breach of Probation
  2. Fail to Comply with Recognizance – 2 counts
