BODY FOUND MAY BE OF WANTED MALE FROM NOVA SCOTIA

FORT FRANCES, ON – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Greenstone Detachment have concluded their search for a second suspect, wanted in relation to a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) investigation in Nova Scotia involving a sexual assault and forcible confinement incident.

Assisted by members of several OPP specialty units and local law enforcement partners, police located the body of a white male, approximately 30 years old about 250 metres from the vehicle that was located earlier in the day near Lukinto Lake Road in the Geraldton area. While the body has not been positively identified, police believe it is that 31-year-old Wayne Alan CUNNINGHAM (corrects previous) of Nova Scotia. The cause of death is under investigation by the Coroner’s Office and the OPP Forensic Identification Unit. Details of an autopsy are not yet confirmed; however, foul play is not suspected.

The body was discovered during a ground search by members of the OPP North West Region Emergency Response Team at approximately 7:30 p.m. Central Time on Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012.
