Manitouwadge Launches Economic Development Studies

MANITOUWADGE, ON – The Township of Manitouwadge is undertaking a series of two economic development studies to be completed this spring. The studies include a Needs and Gaps Analysis and a Marketing Study which will provide direction for the economic development activities of the community.

The studies will assess the business opportunities that Manitouwadge is best positioned to develop and identify investment attraction prospects. Concrete actions to realize the identified opportunities will also be recommended.

“Mayor and Council are committed to create a strong local economy in Manitouwadge, including taking steps to support and develop the business community. We have commissioned these studies to understand the local economy and gain intelligence on current investment trends, which will inform our decisions and help to achieve our goals” Mayor John MacEachern.

To complete these studies, the Township of Manitouwadge has retained the services of Millier Dickinson Blais Inc. a strategic planning and economic development specialist consultancy with extensive experience working with local communities in Northwestern Ontario and across Canada. Millier Dickinson Blais will work with municipal staff and community leaders to engage local residents and the regional business community and build a practical foundation for economic development.
