SCHREIBER, ON – The North Shore Stars just wrapped up another great season with a silver medal  finish at the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association Annual Provincial Tournament in Toronto from April 10th – 13th

The Stars finished the round robin play with an impressive first place total points finish in an 18 team division consisting of the top Midget B teams in southern and eastern Ontario.  We then moved on to win our quarter final game Saturday evening advancing to the semi final game on Sunday morning which we also won and advanced to the final game on Sunday afternoon against the Ennismore Eagles.

The Stars had to settle for a very respectable second place finish after a very close and hard fought battle against a disciplined and fast moving opponent.

Given the fact that all of our opponents from Southern and Eastern Ontario practice regularly and play in leagues playing upwards to 50 games a season , our girls have done a remarkable job down there over the past 6 years representing the North Shore Communities, Greenstone and Dubreuilville with an impressive 3 gold medals and one silver medal.

This brings our season to an end having played 3 tournaments winning 1 gold (Sudbury) and two silver (Thunder Bay and Toronto)

It is remarkable that the North Shore Stars have done so well against our competition from the larger centres who are able to practice regularly and play in regular leagues. What our girls lack in the way of  regular league  play and practice  is made up for in that good Northwesten Ontario big hearted, hard working and  never ending all out effort to do well.

We want to take this opportunity to thank all the players, parents and supporters of the North Shore Stars since the team’s inception 6 years ago and say how very proud of all our girls that we are.

LOOKING BACK AT 2013-14 SEASON
