DRIVER CHARGED: OVER LEGAL LIMIT OF ALCOHOL IN MVC CAUSING MAJOR INJURY

oppcolourGREENSTONE, ON – Tuesday July 1st, 2014 at 1:00 am officers from the Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were notified of a motor vehicle collision that had occurred in the Greenstone area. The passenger of the vehicle Jordan MOSER a 22 year old male from Uxbridge, Ontario sustained major injury as a result and was brought to the Geraldton District Hospital (GDH) for emergency medical treatment. He was subsequently flown to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center (TBRHSC) for further treatment of his injuries.

Upon speaking with the driver, officers detected an odour of alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. Further investigation revealed that the driver was operating a motor vehicle over twice the legal limit.

Jacob NOLAN a 21 year old male from Geraldton was arrested and charged with;

  • One count of Operate a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 milligrams of Alcohol in Blood Contrary to the Criminal Code
  • One count of Blood Alcohol Level Over the Legal Limit Cause Bodily Harm Contrary to the Criminal Code

He is to appear in Criminal Court in relation to the charges on September 3, 2014 in Geraldton, Ontario.
