Region’s Athletes Compete In Red Rock’s 33rd Annual Paju Mountain Run

RED ROCK, ON – Saturday August 9th the Township of Red Rock was pleased to host the 32nd Annual Paju Mountain Run organized byEconomic Development Officer Sarah Clowes and Summer Student Andrea Zapcic. The morning of the run was warm and filled with brilliant sunshine. There were a total of 83 athletes, runners and walkers, who participated.
TOP TIMES
Mark Maronese claimed the title of Top Overall Male with a time of 42:23 while Jenn Jackson earned Top Overall Female with her time of 55:47. Top local Male and Female prizes were won by Jeffrey and Sarah Clowes. Fun was had by all who attended.

Master of Ceremonies Paul Zanandrea hosted the awards banquet at which the top three winners, in each of the five age categories, were presented with a medal by Mayor Gary Nelson and Race Director Sarah Clowes. In all, more than 50 volunteers came together to help make the event a huge success. Thank you to all of the sponsors, volunteers and participants!
The Township of Red Rock was very pleased with participation and support for the run which draws athletes from across the region, many staying to celebrate their success after the run at Pull-a-Log park where the 13th Annual Live From the Rock Folk Festival was in full swing! Along with the folk festival, held from Friday to Saturday, the 2nd weekend in August has become a date which people commit to enjoying in Red Rock year after year for which the community has earned a reputation of being incredibly welcoming, hosting events always guaranteed to exceed visitors’ expectations.
