Wawa Goose Seniors Club Drop-In Closes for Reno’s and New Executive Elected

WAWA, ON – August is almost all gone.  However, the warmth of summer is still (now?) here; the blueberries are still here and the Drop In is still open to all. 330-WGSC-hotbuttonBack in June we had our Executive Elections with a new president and old ….sorry, existing…first vice-president, treasurer, and secretary.  We still need a second vice-president.  So the September General Meeting, Wednesday, the 10th, will see the installation of the new executive:  Bob Avis, president; Edward Nyman, 1st vice-president; Lello Sanchioni, treasurer; Carol Chalykoff, secretary.  There will also be an election for the second vice-president.

We have had a summer of regular euchre and cribbage on Thursdays, bridge on Tuesdays and some fun and goodies from various kitchens on Friday for whoever was around.  Cribbage will be the order of the day on the last Thursday of August (28th this week) and euchre will follow on September 4.  Bridge will go back to Monday as soon as the Seniors’ golf season is over, probably about September 15.  If you have not been out, we start Thursday games at 1:30 but the bridge players are enthusiastic and start at 1:00.  And you are welcome!

By September 3 we will have better lighting with a lower ceiling and 14 new 4 foot lights courtesy of the buildings owners (the Erechooks).  However, renovations can only be done without us.  The Drop In will be closed Friday, August 29 to Tuesday, September 2. But we will be back for all those avid gamblers on Wednesday, September 3.

See you at the Drop In!
