To the Greenstone Staff (a.k.a. the folks who make it happen)

It is with mixed feelings that my occupation with “Greenstone Matter”s comes to a conclusion. I am choosing to write to the staff as my last meeting finished on Monday and there was not an opportunity to see or talk with most of you. My 10 years at the table was very rewarding and personally engaging. It kept me challenged and busy in a good way. The emerging challenge will be in determining what activities will backfill the work and contribution which was part and parcel of the councillor responsibilities.

It needs to be said (again) that when elected officials come and go, it is the staff which are the “glue to keeping it together”. We as Councillors are along for the ride. To you, I tip my hat!!! The ride for me was a good one and it will be missed. I consider myself fortunate to have had a strong endorsement from the voters of Nakina during my 3 terms. The voters have made a determination which I hope serves the residents of Nakina well.

I’m looking forward to chatting with many of you at the Christmas party in a few weeks. It’s always a fun function.

I wish you all well in your professional and personal challenges. Of all of the aspects of the change, I will miss many of the folks such as you who I was introduced to over the past 10 years and the many associates from across the province. I wish you all well in your professional and personal challenges.

Regards,

Jay Daiter, Greenstone
