Kiwissa Ski Centre

Kiwissa Ski Club, had offered those purchasing memberships prior to opening day, an added incentive this year, the opportunity to have their name entered to win a 2 night stay at the Nor’Wester Resort Hotel, 4 full day passes at Loch Lomond and a $50 Nor’Wester Gift Card.  At the end of the day, skiers and snowboarders gathered in the chalet for the draw; Linda Hedderson, Kiwissa Ski Club, presented lucky winner, Karina Hunter (Yes!That’s me) with the generous prize package on behalf of the club. I was thrilled to win the package which really is ‘all inclusive’ as I will be able to use the gift card to eat at the Nor’Wester Resort’s restaurant during my ski adventure in Thunder Bay; a big Thank You, to the Club for adding this great incentive to the purchase of my membership at Kiwissa! Many skiers and snowboarders bought their memberships early this year because of the prize package offered by the club, for my kids and I, it certainly paid off.

  had a great opening day yesterday, December 21^st, as many skiers and snowboarders came out to enjoy the beautiful weather and pristine conditions at the Manitouwadge hill. The Main Run, having been prepped for the past 2 weeks with artificial snow blown from eight snow guns on to it and the T-Bar Lift path during daily 16 hour shifts, was ideal for intermediate and advanced skiers to enjoy, while less experienced ski and snowboard enthusiast stuck to the Beginner Hill next to the chalet. The Beginner Hill with its gradual incline, easy-to-use tow lift and affordable price (just $5/person or $10/family for a full day) offers new skiers and snowboarders the perfect place to hone their skills, parents enjoy watching in comfort from the Chalet windows. Officials are hoping Mother Nature will lend a helping hand that they might have the Pine Run and others on the main hill open during the holiday break.
