Ontario Helps Improve Highway 614

McGuinty Government Invests In Northern Highway Infrastructure

Ontario continues to invest in northern highway infrastructure improvements with plans to repair Highway 614 south of Manitouwadge.

Through Ontario’s Northern Highways Program, the planned work will widen the road in each direction, improve drainage and pave 26 kilometres north from Highway 17.

A tender call has been issued for a contract to complete the improvements.  Work is scheduled to begin this spring and be complete this fall.

 The paved driving surface of highway 614 will be widened from 3.25 meters to 3.5 meters in each direction.
  • Highway 614 is 52 kilometres in length and links Manitouwadge to the Trans Canada Highway.
