Students Promote Northshore Marine Conservation Area

PARKS CANADA HIRES SUMMER STUDENTS TO PROMOTE LAKE SUPERIOR NATIONAL MARINE CONSERVATION AREA ALONG NORTH SHORE

NIPIGON, ONTARIO, July 29, 2010 Charmaine Beaulieu, Visitor Information Student Supervisor, works out of the Parks Canada office on the ground floor of Nipigon’s Tourist Information Centre. The four Student Visitor Information Officers are working out of the visitor and tourist information centres in the communities of Terrace Bay, Schreiber and Nipigon, and one is working at the Terry Fox Lookout and the Thunder Bay Pagoda. In addition, there is a Parks Canada exhibit featuring information and resources located at the dock in Rossport.

The Student Visitor Information Officers have participated in an orientation and boat tour of the Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area and look forward to sharing information with visitors to their respective locations. Drop in at any of the tourist information centres to access information on Parks Canada’s national marine conservation areas, national parks and national historic sites.
